If you are following our cooking videos you will know that as part of making June more fun and active we have teamed up with Bray Area Partnership who, through Healthy Ireland, have put together a series of videos as part of a Health and Wellbeing Programme concentrating on body and mind.

Our Wellbeing Facilitator, Yvonne Doyle, has put together a series of yoga and mindfulness videos for you to try. Yvonne is a yoga and meditation tutor and has experience in delivering these types of activities in schools around Wicklow.

So whether you are new to yoga or an experienced Yogi, why not give these easy to follow sessions a try. We will add a new video each week!

Please let us know what you think or how you got on by leaving us a message on the blog.

Namaste 🙂

Hey everyone. As we enter the month of June, we are throwing down the gauntlet to all students to match the staff. Keep in touch with the school blog and the challenges we post. You will be entered into a draw for a weekly prize every time you post how your challenge went. There will be 2 challenges every week. They are split into junior and senior. Junior for Infants to 2nd class and Senior for 3rd to 6th class. Every time you post how your challenge went, you are entered into a draw for a weekly prize. If you complete 7 out of 8, you will get to compete in a Super Assault Obstacle course when we get back to St. Peter’s. Best of luck everyone and we look forward to watching your progress.

As part of making June more fun and active we have teamed up with Bray Area Partnership who, through Healthy Ireland, have put together a series of videos as part of a Health and Wellbeing Programme incorporating body and mind.

Health and Nutrition Facilitator, Aisling Kirwan, has worked with us in the school before delivering a variety of fun and healthy parent and children cooking and nutrition classes.

Each week we will upload Aisling’s latest video, along with a list of ingredients needed, and would love to see as many of you as possible get involved and try out a couple of the latest recipes at home. For our first week, Aisling is making homemade pizza!

Check out the video below and please send us some photos or video to the school mobile or your class teacher for us to share and as always please leave a comment on the blog telling us your thoughts!

Last week 3rd class once again took on the STEM challenge of the week: Pringle Ringle.

This was an engineering project in which students had to create a ring using only Pringles – no tape or glue allowed!

The challange required a lot of patience as well as careful Pringle placement! First they had to fill in a recording sheet where they had to guess how many Pringles were in the container and how many they thought they’d need to build the ring. Next, they sketched out their plan. When they completed the task they said how many they actually used to build the ring and reflected on what they’d do different.

The hardest part was… Not eating them all before creating the ring 😋

Fantastic work 3rd class! 👏
