As you all know, 2nd Class have been lucky enough to have dancing every Wednesday this year. They have loved taking part and they are really grateful to their lovely teacher Sue! Dancing is great fun and helps us to keep fit! We love doing it for PE. Just for some fun, we decided to learn a little bit about Riverdance, the famous dance from the Eurovision. It was cool to look at the video and imagine what it is like to dance in front of loads of people all over the world. The music is excellent and was written by a man called Bill Whelan. 2nd Class are getting ready for their First Confession and First Holy Communion. We decided to podcast about our work so far. We are working hard to prepare for our sacraments. Have a listen to our podcast here!  

Some very excited St. Peter’s students with their finished books! Well done to the boys and girls who completed the Write-A-Book project just before the midterm break. We were delighted with the standard of the finished books and we hope that the students are really proud of the work done. This is the first time we have participated in the project and we really enjoyed it. Our books have now been sent to other schools and teachers for correction. We are also lucky enough to have the chance to read the work of children from other local schools as part of the project! One book from each class... 

We’ve had a ball with Engineer’s Week this week! Caoilynn’s BEE-AUTIFUL card!  

2nd Class have finished Alfie Green and they really enjoyed it! It was lovely to read such a fun, adventurous book that was written by an Irish author! Have a listen to our podcast and hear what we thought of it!  

We got a very important and exciting delivery in the post yesterday! Just as were getting settled back into class after mass, Karen came in with a letter from the postman that was addressed to Polly! Our Polly the Polar Bear! We just couldn’t believe it. The card looked like this: The envelope that the card arrived in What the card looked like on the inside! We just couldn’t believe it. Bridget, the Biodiversity Bee from St. Brigid’s in Greystones had invited our Polly to come and visit the children there! Polly was so excited! We are going to prepare Polly for her trip to Greystones.... 

We love to swim in St. Peter’s. We are safe and careful swimmers. We are learning all about water safety and how to swim well. This year 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class go swimming in the Shoreline every Monday. Codie and Dylan recorded this podcast to tell you all about our swimming lessons!  

The dates for celebration for our school sacraments in 2014 will be as follows. 1. First Confession – Tuesday, 20th of May. 2. First Communion – Sunday, 25th of May. 3. Confirmation – Saturday, 17th of May.
