This week Johnny, Arturas, Nathan K and Ryan made huge improvements in their spellings and tables tests. They are working hard to be the best and we know that they are doing their learning homework every night. Ms. Whyte popped in to our room to congratulate the boys and give them all prize stickers. Well Done boys, keep it up!
Nathan has won “work of the week” which is displayed outside our classroom door on the corridor for everyone to see as they pass by. This week Nathan’s spellings and times tables’ test won…he got 100% in both tests!!! Nathan knows all of the times tables from x1 up to x10, even when we muddle them up! This is amazing as Nathan is only in 2nd class!
We celebrated Daffodil Day today by making our own daffodils! They are very easy to make, you could even try it at home! Here’s Ryan to tell you “How to”! “We got a yellow piece of card and we traced our hands with pencil. Next we cut out our hand prints. Then we folded them in the middle and put the straws in the middle too. We sellotaped the straw inside. After that we added green leaves to the stem. We are going to give them to our Mam’s for Mother’s day on Sunday because they are so beautiful!”
I have been working with Mr. Kinsella to make a stop motion animation. First we planned our story and then we wrote it. After I corrected and edited it we made a list of everything we needed to make it. Filming started last week and we hope to have it finished before Easter and up on the blog. In the meantime I hope you enjoy the trailer! By Jordan Farrell IMG 0159[1] from St Peter's, Bray on Vimeo.
Hi bloggers around the world, today we found out that one of the boys in our class won the Write a Book Project for our class. We have been waiting a long time to hear who the winner was. It was Luke C and he gets to go to a hotel in Killiney next Monday at 5pm to collect his prize. Luke was VERY HAPPY when he found out that he was the winner. Everybody in the class gave him a big round of applause. He is allowed to bring two guests with him to the presentation. Mr. Foley and another guest are going to the presentation with him. The name of his book was “The Dwarven City of Dishea”....

We are big fans of Roald Dahl in our class; we decided to read one of his books after all the interesting things that we read about him during World Book Day! We chose The Twits. We talk about each chapter with our talk buddies after reading it, and then we write a summary in our copies. We make sure to talk about the beginning, middle and end every time. Sometimes we chat about how the characters are feeling while we are reading the book, we even try to imagine how we would feel if we were them! We are always laughing at the mean tricks that the Twits play on eachother! Here are some of our favourite...
On Tuesday boys from 3rd– 6th class travelled down to beautiful Avondale to take part in a Cross Country Athletics competition. The boys ran in relay teams of four and did our school proud. It was a tough course but each of the boys tried their best and gave it their all until they reached the finish line. We were blessed that the sun was shining and we all had a wonderful day. ‘Everyone in 3rd class really enjoyed the cross country running.’ – Szymon ‘It was a hard course but we tried our best and had fun.’ –Finn ‘Each of us showed great school spirit cheering on the boys from...
Another blog post from the Fourth Class Vault, this time from last week. Enjoy! Hello bloggers around the world, today we got our 101st green in our attendance chart! We were very excited when we got our hundredth green yesterday. We are now only 31 greens away from drawing with last year’s total of 132 greens. We have got 8 prizes so far for our attendance. Mr. Foley put up eight gold stars on our one hundredth green representing all of our prizes so far. There is also a golden ring around it too. To get a prize we have to get 10 greens in a row. If we get an orange or a red, we have to...
From our vault, a previously unpublished post from the boys in Fourth Class, with pictures to follow. Enjoy! Welcome bloggers. Today in our class Calvin brought in two special visitors, his two pet turtles called Zig and Zag. Zig was the bigger one and Zag was the smaller one. We put them into a bowl of water. Zag floated at the top of the water and Zig sank to the bottom. Zig swam fast under the water. Calvin told us that “Zig prefers water and Zag hates water. He prefers land.” Zig even tried to swim in a tiny puddle of water in his container. We learned that turtles have tails....
