Last Friday, we had our final assembly of the year. After Mr Foley recapped some of the very exciting things that have happened this year, he praised all the students for their hard work and school spirit. He spoke about the great support that students, staff and parents have given St Peter’s this year and how we can achieve great things when we work together as a team. There were a number of awards to be handed out. We started with the tennis awards from the recent tournament in Shankill. Then, we handed out Bike Week prizes for the overall and class winners of the speed test and the slow...

There was lots of excitement from early last Thursday morning as we prepared for our school tour! 61 students and 7 staff left St Peter’s at 9.30 am and headed for Fort Lucan. A fantastic time was had by all, as you can see from our Animoto and Vines below! The go-karting and water slides were very popular and there were some great games of chasing on the climbing frames and slides. As always, our classes mixed really well with each other and looked out for each other throughout the day. It was a brilliant way to finish off the term and everyone went home exhausted, but happy (and soaking...

We had another brilliant Bike Day the week before last. Paddy organised the different tracks and routes to follow, and as per usual there was a fast race and a slow race. It challenged us to use our bicycles in a different way, and we had a big focus on bike and road safety. The winners of the trials were: The ‘slow’ race: 1. Archie Farrell The Fast Race: 1. Dylan Kane (closely followed by Dylan Mason!) Have a look at some of 2nd Class on the routes. This was the slow race! This is the fast race in action! We just LOVE Bike Day and can’t wait for Bike Day 2015!

Last Friday, we celebrated the annual St. Peter’s World Cup. It was incredible fun, and as per usual it was very, very tight at the finish. It all started with the team draws. Every teacher had a team to manage! We shared the teams via twitter as they were announced at assembly. Mr. Kinsella will manage Argentina! #PetersWC — St. Peter’s Primary (@StPetersBray) June 20, 2014 Ms. Mitchell and Ms. Flanagan will manage France! #PetersWC — St. Peter’s Primary (@StPetersBray) June 20, 2014 Ms. Sexton is managing the Ivory Coast! #PetersWC — St. Peter’s Primary (@StPetersBray)...

Hello bloggers from around the world! We have been very busy over the past couple of weeks in class. We have been doing our lego videos and they are almost finished. We will be finishing them this week. We will put them up on our next blog post when they are done. We are doing it in three different groups. Have a look out for them next week! We found out we are going on our School Trip to Fort Lucan in two weeks time. We just finished our seventh class novel of the year – “Holes” by Louis Sachar. A lot of us thought it was the best one. We did a vote on all the books we have read....

Last Saturday, St. Peter’s had the huge honour of showcasing their technology and ICT use in Dublin Castle at the Excited Digital Learning Conference. We were invited to participate having completed the Digital Schools of Distinction adjudication. It has been an incredible year for St. Peter’s, and we have worked to improve and enhance our use of ICT at every level in the school. This has led to great success at a national level, and we have been successful in the national Eircom Junior Spiders awards, the national Mathletes finals and we have also won a Creative Schools award for use...

Last Friday, there were quite a few doubtful faces turned to the sky, looking carefully at clouds patterns – it’s times like these we miss Mr Curran! After a very wet day on Thursday and an overcast start to Friday, there were a few worried faces in case it was too wet for Sports Day to go ahead. As it turned out, the sun was splitting the stones by mid-morning and we had a fantastic day! It was mainly thanks to Paddy, who put in so much work for Sports Day, as he always does! We kept track of the day on Twitter, through photographs and Vines. Vine of the day has to go to Dylan Kane...

Many of our tweets this afternoon fell under two hashtags and it made us reflect, during one of the busiest times of the year, on how much has happened. We thought we’d share it with you, particularly if you’re a past pupil and wondering what on earth has been going on in Peter’s lately! When our now 4th class were in 2nd class, they had a boy in their class called Jack. Jack was really popular with staff and students and we were all a little bit heartbroken when he moved to Galway, though he keeps in touch every so often with postcards and last year, he came to visit us –...
