On Monday a new noticeboard went up on our corridor. Mr. Foley gave us an answer and we had to guess the question. The whole school including the teachers were allowed to guess the question, except for Mr. Foley because he knows what the question is. We were told that the answer was “Blue”. There were many guesses put up on the noticeboard. On Tuesday we got a clue that it was related to “The Simpsons”, after Ian Lawless (6th Class) gave the closest question on Monday.  The six people that guessed it correctly were Mason, Ryan, Luke, Alan (all in 4th Class), Billy and Jamie...

Hello bloggers, we hope you are enjoying the blog. We are doing Science Projects at the moment, and so are Fifth and Sixth Class. For this, we got into groups of three and four. We were given time to decide both our groups and our projects. Mr. Foley was impressed how quickly and quietly we did this. We have five groups in the class. After we were in our groups we were discussing what sort of Science Project we should do. All of us have different kinds of projects. Each group agreed on what we are doing. We have five different experiments, including dinosaurs, spiders, space, birds and the ocean. Over...

Last Thursday, as part of Maths Week, we took part in a Maths Table Quiz. Paddy and Mr Kinsella, after much deliberation, split 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes into mixed teams of 4 for the quiz in the library. The quiz was provided by Seomra Ranga, always a great source of resources for primary schools. You can check out Seomra Ranga here! Thanks to Ms Byrne, Ms Sugrue, Ms Kane and Mr Staunton for correcting the quiz papers and for keeping the scoreboard up to date. Ms Sexton read out the questions and the jokes. Thanks to Paddy for taking the photos! Well done to Team 14 who were the winners –...

Cross country is a running event that lots of different schools enter. Second class will be able to enter  next year,  but this year, eight people from each class entered it in teams. It was a tough competition for all the runners in Arklow. We had a good day. All the classes were having fun. Andy was the runner of the day. All the classes had class photos taken. We had a good time on the bus. Everyone was singing on the bus. A big thanks to Paddy and everyone who came along, including Ms Sexton and Ms Byrne. Everyone said we were on our best behaviour and we did our school proud.   By...

In September, we had the best attendance in the school for the month and we hope we keep it up. We managed to get 98.41% in for the month. In our classroom, we have a daily attendance chart. We get a “green” if we are all in or if only one boy is out. If two boys are out we get an “orange”. If three or more boys are out we get a “red”. So far this year we have got a green every day since we started. We are smashing last year’s score. They got 12 greens before their first orange. Today we got our 30th green with no oranges or reds at all. We’ve had...
