This week has been Science Week around the country! In St Peter’s, we’re famous for our involvement in scientific activities and events, and this week was no exception. 4th, 5th and 6th were busy with their projects for the Mini-Scientist, and other classes got stuck in with a variety of enjoyable activities!
Here are the headlines for this week:
- The MakeyMakey board video was a massive success this week – see what all the fuss is about here!
- 2nd class had a great week for Science Week – read all about it here
- Well done to Patryk in 6th who collected his prize for his superb entry in the Bray Lions Peace Poster competition.

- 2nd class finished two fantastic programmes this week – Food Dudes and Seatbelt Sheriffs
- 6th class spoke about their work on their Mini-Scientist projects in a podcast here

- Ameesh from 5th class recorded a poem that his dad taught him. The poem is in Tamil and well worth a listen here.
- Archie from 6th wrote a great review of recent sports events here

Other news included:
- 2nd class made a volcano for Science Week!
- 5th class are reading the 4 nominees for the Specsavers Irish Children’s Book of the Year (Junior Section) to the younger readers at home. So far, ‘Brave Beast’ by Chris Judge is the popular choice.
- 4th class have finished reading ‘Rover saves Christmas’ – good news, seeing as it’s only 39 sleeps to the big day!
- Electric Paint arrived this week – 5th and 6th are buying packs to try out next week!
- 5th class had another exciting week with Ms Kane – post to follow next week.
- We were delighted to welcome Mr Curran back for a quick visit – he was telling us all about a photo that his family are presenting in Galway soon. We’ll be following it with interest!
- Well done to our Irish dancing teacher, Sue, who won at the Leinster Championships!
- Congratulations to the footballers, who played so well on Wednesday – thanks to the SPU and Tommy who helped out on the day!
